How to make a registered tag list

From PTAGISWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

A registered tag list is a list of tag codes that can be used in the PTAGIS Query Builder to limit a query to just the tags in which you are interested. You must be logged in to your PTAGIS Web Portal account to create and use a registered tag list. Using registered tag lists allow you to:

  • narrow down the area of interest for data intensive queries, such as those using Interrogation Details
  • maintain lists of tag groups of interest on the PTAGIS Web Portal for future use and reuse
  • efficiently query the PTAGIS database

Make a Registered Tag List from Text File

If you have tag data in an Excel spreadsheet or Access database that contains a group of tags in which you are interested, you can use it to create a registered tag list by uploading it to the PTAGIS Web Portal.

Thumb

1. Save the tag data as a Comma Separated Value (CSV) text file. It may contain data in addition to the tag codes, PTAGIS will find and import only valid tag codes, but each tag code needs to be on a separate line and the file name cannot contain spaces.

2. Go to My Files on the PTAGIS website and click the Upload button. Browse to the text file and click the Submit button. You should see a message that says "Successfully uploaded the file "my_tags.csv". Click OK to go back to My Files.
