How to work with Registered Tag Lists
From PTAGISWiki
Registered tag lists can be used to limit queries of the PTAGIS database to a set of tag codes of interest. They can also be used to further manipulate query results to do things like get a report of unique fish. There are several tools available through the PTAGIS web portal for managing and manipulating your registered tag lists.
Once you have created one or more registered tag lists (How to make a registered tag list), go to My Registered Tags in the PTAGIS Web Portal. You have to be logged in to your account to create and work with registered tag lists.
File Management Tools
Common file operations are available to manage your registered tag lists. Select the file or files you want to work with by clicking the check box to the left of the file name.
- View

- Download
- Downloads a copy of selected file to your local computer.
- Rename
- Allows you to rename selected file.
- Copy
- Creates a copy of selected file and prompts you for a name for that copy.
- Delete
- Deletes all selected files, unless a file is currently being used as a filter modification in a query. This operation cannot be undone.
Data Manipulation Tools
These tools allow you to work with your query results to further refine them.
- Filter Duplicates
- Creates a new tag list that contains only the unique tag codes from the selected file.
- Union
- Creates a new tag list that contains all of the tag codes from each of the selected tag files.
- Intersect
- Creates a new tag list that contains only the tag codes that appear in all of the selected files.
- Difference 1st-2nd
- Creates a new tag list that contains the tag codes that are in the first selected tag list, but not the second.
- Difference 2nd-1st
- Creates a new tag list that contains the tag codes that are in the second selected tag list, but not the first.
- First and second are determined by position in the file list, not by the order in which the files are selected.
