PIT Tag Interrogation Site Details

PRO - Prosser Dam Fishways and Screened Diversion (including PRJ)

In operation since 2004, this site consists of pass-through antennas installed in the adult fishways and the juvenile bypass system. From 1989 to 2004 the two antenna groups in the juvenile fish monitoring facility operated as site PRJ. When PIT tag detectors were added to the adult fish ladders in 2004, the site was renamed to PRO. See the current site diagram and the site configuration history for more information about the antenna groups described below.

Smolt Bypass Separator/Sample (A1-A3)
In place since 1989 (in site PRJ), this antenna group interrogates PIT-tagged fish that are collected from the smolt separator after entering the juvenile fish facility from Chandler Canal.
Smolt Bypass Sample Room Exit (51-52)
In place since 1989 (in site PRJ), this antenna group interrogates PIT-tagged fish that are collected for a facility smolt monitoring sub-sample and are released from the sorting trough into the recovery tank.
Left Bank LDR Counting Window (01-02)
Installed in 2004, this antenna group interrogates PIT-tagged fish that travel past the fish counting window in the left bank fish ladder.
Middle LDR Counting Window (03-04)
Installed in 2005, this antenna group interrogates PIT-tagged fish that travel past the fish counting window in the middle fish ladder.
Right Bank LDR Counting Window (05-06)
Installed in 2005, this antenna group interrogates PIT-tagged fish that travel past the fish counting window in the right bank fish ladder.
