Trouble Shooting Device Master
If you are having trouble with the MAC address not showing up under Device Network Addresses' when you select Retrieve network Addresses from the Device from the Network Connections tab in Device Manager you can try the following.
- Open PortVision
- Make sure that when you run a scan that the Device Master you are working with appears.
- It should be noted that you are looking at the MAC address not the IP address as the IP address most likely has not been programmed in yet.
- If you do not see the MAC address of the Device Master you are working with there is most likely a cabling problem, check all cabling.
- When you see the MAC address of the Device Master you are working with in PortVision proceed to the next step.
- From the Device Manager right click on the Device Master you are working with and select disable.
- Go back to PortVision and reboot the Device Master.
- Immediately go back to Device Manager, right click on the Device Master and select enable.
Some times this has to be done a few times for it to work. You can check that is working by going to the Networks Connection in Device Manager (right click on Multiport Serial Adaptors and select Properties) and clicking on Retrieve Network Addresses from the Device. The MAC address should appear under Device Network Addresses.
