Objective
This procedure is to be used to update SbyC database and/or map files on a production data collection platform.
Scope
This procedure defines how to update the database and map files in a production data collection platform (DCP). This procedure will also set the DCP clocks to match atomic time.
Responsibilities
This procedure is to be performed by PTAGIS staff familiar with SbyC operations.
Procedure
Starting Notes:
- Do NOT perform this procedure if it cannot be completed before the next auto-upload.
- Do NOT switch files during a facility sample.
- Use two different computers, if possible, to log in to Catfish via Remote Desktop (RDP). One computer can log in using the PSMFC.ORG domain, one the local Catfish machine. Use one of these RDP sessions to remotely connect via PC Anywhere into PC1, and the other to connect to PC2.
- This procedure requires that the updated database and map files have been created and exist in the appropriate folder on the PTAGIS FTP server.
- Open the clock on your local computer so you can see atomic time down to the second. Resynchronize your local clock if necessary.
Login and Check Time
- Use PC Anywhere to log in to PC1 and PC2 on the two separate RDP connections to Catfish.
- Multimon should be in full-screen mode and collecting data.
- Hit F4 on both PCs to check their times against each other and against atomic time. Note any discrepancies.
Download Files and Prepare PCs
Complete the following steps first on PC1, then on PC2.
- Put Multimon into a window (Alt-Enter).
- Open Total Commander.
- Delete all MAP.### and CFG.### (### denotes extensions 001-031) from the multimon\system folder in the right panel.
- Get the new database and/or map file using Total Commander:
- With the left pane active, click the FTP button (or select Net / FTP Connect) to bring up the FTP Connect window. Click Connect.
- Verify that Total Commander is showing the proper sub-folder for the site you're updating.
- Download the latest database and/or map file to the Multimon system folder in the Total Commander right pane on the remote machine.
- Disconnect from the FTP Session.
- With the left pane active, click the FTP button (or select Net / FTP Connect) to bring up the FTP Connect window. Click Connect.
- Extract the database ZIP file.
