- In April 1996 a subsample was taken by one 400kHz antenna (transceiver ID 0D) in PH2.
- In February 1997 four 400kHz antennas (transceiver IDs 02, 04, 06 and 08) were used as "Main" in PH2.
- In March 1999 the four "Main" coils were moved to site of the SMF.
- In December 1999 the SMF was brought online with with a 3-way rotating SbyC gate and a 2-way rotating sample gate. Also at this time, the 400kHz transceivers were replaced with ISO transceivers. Monitors created at this point were:
- SbyC Separator Gate (transceiver IDs A1, A2, A3 and A4)
- River Exit (transceiver IDs 81 82)
- SbyC East Tank (transceiver IDs E1 and E2)
- SbyC West Tank (transceiver IDs F1 and F2)
- Sample/Sbyc Exit (transceiver IDs 91, 92 and 93).
- In March 2001 the Sample Room monitor was added (transceiver IDs 51 and 52).
- In March of 2006 the Full Flow monitor was added upstream of the bypass gate (transceiver IDs 01, 02, 03 and 04).

Construction commenced in the fall of 2005. Initial PIT Tag testing began April 10,2006. Production data collection started April 13, 2006 with data being collected to the transceiver's buffer. The first MiniMon file opened at noon April 26, 2006. MiniMon 1.4.21 with the filter for spurious PIT Tags was deployed May 2,2007. On March 6, 2008 The BOG enhanced transceiver was deployed.

BO3 was formed from two previous sites: B2A and BWL.
- BWL was in the Washington shore ladder and was in operation from March 2001 to December 2002.
- BWL consisted of the same 20 orifice antennas that are currently deployed at BO3.
- BWL also had four additional orifice antennas at weirs 44-48.
- B2A was in the AFF.
- In May of 1998 it consisted of four 400kHz antennas per flume.
- In January of 2001 it consisted of three 400kHz antennas and two ISO antennas per flume.
The combination of those two sites (minus the four orifice antennas at weirs 44-48) became BO3 in December 2002.
- In December 2003 the 400kHz antennas were removed and two additional ISO antennas were added to the flumes for a total of four ISO antennas per flume.
