Established Conventions

  1. Use Categories. E.g., [[Category:FAQ]] and others that make sense.
  2. Emphasize glossary definitions
  3. Use level 3 section for FAQ questions and plain text subordinate for the answer. E.g., wiki help
  4. If an email message has been used to add a new Q&A to the FAQ page reference the email using the summary field at the bottom of the FAQ page. To identify the email used to formulate the new Q&A use the summary field (while in edit mode) and enter the following text to reference an email:Added Q&A: Reference Email MM/DD/YYYY Subject or Title of Email. Protect and Restrict Policy

  • Protected pages
Users with "sysop" rights can make pages protected. This prevents non-sysop users from making changes to those pages. Pages that should be protected are pages that are at risk for vandalism or accidental update like the main page of the wiki.
  • Restricted pages
Users with "restrict" rights can assign pages as restricted which makes them invisible to users without "restrict" or "viewrestrict" rights. Pages that should be restricted are those which contain sensitive information that is not meant to be published to the general public like vendor drawings and contact information.
Restricted pages within the PTAGIS wiki are an environment in which collaboration can occur (a non-public environment) with vendors and other entities who have been given "viewrestrict" privileges.

"Employees Only" Pages

The PTAGIS wiki must not contain information that could be used to compromise PTAGIS operations or harass PTAGIS staff. The following types of data should be on the Private wiki:

  • IP addresses of PTAGIS computers
  • telephone numbers of PTAGIS employees
