Suggestions for PTAGIS Wiki

The Suggestions for PTAGIS Wiki page has been created for the use of the PTAGIS staff. This page is where PTAGIS staff can record ideas and suggestions that we think will help the PTAGIS Wiki accomodate as many needs of the PTAGIS project as possible.

Instructions

1. Each suggestion should be numbered so that replies and discussion can reference the appropriate suggestion by number. 'If you are adding a resolution to the list of resolutions out of order make sure that the resolution number matches the suggestion number.'
2. Include a name, date and time stamp for each entry you make (four ~ to add stamp).
3. Reserve the article portion of the wiki page for Suggestions and Resolutions.
4. Use the Discussion tab for indepth discussion of a Suggestions/Resolutions, and make sure to use the correct reference numbers for discussion of Suggestions/Resolutions.

Resolutions

1. Users can set time zone preferences by navigating to the Preferences link at the top right of the browser window. Once the Preferences page opens select the Time Zone option from the left side of the Preferences page.Kristiana4 14:55, 10 August 2006 (PDT)

4. In order to have the Wiki tell Comments to be added to the top of the Discussion page instead of the bottom will take considerable effort each time PTAGIS updates to a new version of MediaWiki, so instead of making this change it is recommended that users utilize the Wiki Editor to contribute to Discussion pages. The Comment tab can still be used, but users will have to copy/past Comment entries from the bottom of Discussion pages to the top of Discussion pages.
5. Wiki pages, versions, files and documents are never deleted, and therefore retained for as long as the PTAGIS Wiki is alive and functioning.
6. Ryan will look into tools that will allow batch uploads of image files, but for the current time image files will need to be uploaded individually. We will notify PTAGIS when and if we find a tool that will allow batch uploads of image files to the PTAGIS Wiki. Kristiana4 15:10, 10 August 2006 (PDT)
7. Video files can be uploaded to the PTAGIS Wiki. If at any time users experience difficulty uploading files to the PTAGIS Wiki, contact Ryan Day or Kristiana Kroneck and we can add the file type that is causing difficulty to the list of acceptable files in the PTAGIS WIki configuration.
